ATS Anti-Aircraft gunners, Hayling Island, taken during World War II

A black and white contact print showing a group of ATS Anti-Aircraft gunners dressed in thick fir coats and gloves. They were serving on Hayling Island during World War 2. Taken between 1942 and 1946.

This photograph belonged to Cpl Margaret Beetle who can be seen in the top left hand side of this photograph. She served as an Ack Ack gunner on Hayling Island and Norbury between 1942 and 1946. Later in life Margaret beetle devoted time to educating children about World War 2 and the Battle for Britain.
