Our photographic collection contains topographical views of the county, its industries and inhabitants dating from the 1850’s to the present day, including representations of local photographers such as Terry Hunt of Basingstoke and William Savage of Winchester.
Electronic or printed copies of photographs from the collection can be supplied for private or commercial use, prices are available upon request. Please email collections@hampshireculturaltrust.org.uk or submit an enquiry.
Photographs are acquired primarily for their topographical or collections-related content rather than for any artistic merit, although the two sometimes occur in the same image.
The material stored at our Chilcomb and F2 collections centres in Winchester is available by prior appointment, to researchers and through specialist workshops and tours. A selection of photographs are available to view online, and we also have a Facebook page Hampshire in Old Photographs where we regularly post photographs of local places and people.
