Baby's cap, crocheted in fine cream cotton with pattern of linked wheels, 8cm diameter crown with wheel surrounded by fan shapes, scalloped border round edge and as frill round crown, openwork effect, especially on crown, made as separate pieces, then sewn together, caul gathered into crown, no fastenings, eyelets at centre of each scallop, possibly for ribbon, probably worn with lining, c1890-1919
