Baby's cap, fine linen, double headpiece, caul seam hemstitched with 2mm lace edging sewn on, caul has smocked gauging around keyhole crown of brussels or devon lace with branching leaf spray, crown lined with linen, keyhole outlined with hemstitch, crown diameter 4.5cm, 5mm of lace excess, turned under, gauging etc 1cm deep, one line of edging around circle of lace, other over gauging, headpieces 6.5cm and 7.5cm deep, crown lining tacked in, though similar fabric - later?, c1790-1809
