Baby's cap or undercap, net, closely gathered round face to give puffed effect, front edge bound with narrow tape and trimmed with four lines of thick white thread run through net to give piped effect, horseshoe crown of coarser net, linen tape ties, front corners curved, fourth line 3cm from edge, crown 10cm wide at base, loop of tape run through centre 3cm of crown base, to draw up with bow, strings 43cm by 12mm, c1890-1919
