Baby's cap, very fine linen, four drawstrings around face, three frills edged with narrow Valenciennes lace around face, one frill at nape, caul gauged into 5cm diameter crown, seams and crown topstitched, linen ties, 1.5cm frill with .5cm wide lace, runners over 3cm, more runners at base of frills and at nape, line of twisted stitching to hold gauging, crown seam hemstitched, unusual, two rows of dotted backstitch around crown, ties of self fabric, 1cm by 19cm, c1810-1849
