This teddy bear was named ‘Belinda’ by Mr William Simpson, an avid collector of more than 250 teddy bears. This teddy bear is complete with homemade top and skirt in bronze taffeta, wine colour ribbon belt glued around skirt and a marquisite brooch pinned to the top.
Mr Simpson partnered this bear with another in his collection, Ben. He noted how this teddy bear was bought in 1996 in the course of a closing down sale in Lyme Regis. ‘They were part of quite a large number of similar bears but were the only ones who seemed to have nicely formed faces.’
This was made in China for Play Makers of Scarborough.
