Bosun- William Simpson Teddy Bear Collection

This teddy bear was named ‘Bosun’ by Mr William Simpson, an avid collector of more than 250 teddy bears. This teddy bear has jointed limbs and is decorated with a red neck ribbon and red sash with the RNLI logo and Lifeboat printed in white. The teddy bear has been given a handmade card label which reads 'I help to save lives at sea. Please may I now join your bear family?' tied on with green gift tie.

This teddy bear was given to Mr Simpson in 1995 by his friends Bruce and Raff Bint. As this bear was purchased to raise finds for the Royal Life Boat Association he was named Bosun. This name is also the name of the Bint family dog.
