Coffee cup and saucer, bone china, moulded in low relief with acanthus leaves around the base of cup and well of saucer, decorated in purple on a pink ground with a print of various birds among bullrushes and reeds; base of cup, printed factory marks and registered design marks, black for shape and purple for pattern, with encoded dates of 11th September 1876 and 14th January 1881 respectively, underside of saucer, the same marks, but that for shape impressed, made by E J D Bodley, Hill Pottery, Burslem, Staffordshire, 1881+
