Coins, such as this one, inscribed with the name of the ruler - the so-called 'dynastic coinage' - derive from the Roman series. They point to the contacts between south-east England and the newly conquered province of Gaul, or modern France, at this time. The obverse shows a Romanised head inscribed with the abbreviated name TINCOM in front of the face. On the reverse an eagle stands with spread wings.
