Surface find collected from Silkstead, Otterbourne, Hampshire

This blade would have been struck from a flint core using a stone or antler hammer. Another blade was then dragged across it, to give it a serrated edge. Archaeologists know this item as a denticulate because of the continual notched tooth-like projections. It may have been used for cutting through twine.
