Finger Ring

Roman Silver finger ring

Roman silver finger-ring dating from the mid 2nd century AD. It was found by metal detector in Crookham Village, Fleet, Hampshire in 2017.

The ring is of Henig Type II set with a cornelian gemstone. An image of Cupid as a huntsman holding a hare above a dog has been engraved into the gemstone. The metal is dark grey in colour, the surface lightly pitted and rough to touch.
