Found by Winchester Museums Archaeology Section at the Hyde Abbey Community Excavation, Winchester, Hampshire in 1999

Two joining fragments of a glazed inlaid floor tile showing the double-headed eagle emblem of Richard of Cornwall, King of the Romans (1257-72), the brother of King Henry III. Many of the floor tiles at Hyde Abbey were broken up when the abbey was demolished following its dissolution by Henry VIII's Commissioner Thomas Wriothesley.
