This teddy bear was named ‘Ha’penny’ by Mr William Simpson who was an avid collector of more than 250 teddy bears. This teddy bear has a plush brown fabric, and has a gold neck ribbon holding a gilt frame medallion with a 1966 halfpenny inset.  This is a boxed Merrythought bear made for Compton and Woodhouse, part of a group called the Money Bears. It is a limited edition version no. 67 of 2,450.

Mr Simpson purchased a set of six ‘Money bears’ in 2002 including Farthing, Ha'penny, Penny, Thrupence, Sixpence, and Shilling.
