Helmet, fire helmet, occupational, men's, brass, high domed crown with ornate crest featuring fire breathing dragons to each side and tapering down to the lower edge of the helmet which is flared to cover the nape, crest attached to helmet with brass screws and inner nuts, front of crown trimmed large plaque depicting crossed fire axes and coiled hose, front peak comes to a central point, ornate bosses of brass at each side with leather chinstrap trimmed brass curb chain attached, chinstrap with buckle closure, inner cap made of sections of leather adjusted to fit with drawstring at crown, approximate height overall 260mm, approximate length 280mm, c1887
