Hilary - William Simpson Teddy Bear Collection

Teddy bear, 'Hilary' possibly homemade, biscuit fleece-type material, head and limbs all re-stitched, eyes (replaced?) with brown felt patches and small amber beads, gold colour straw hat with pink gift tie bow, purple and white patterned skirt, brooch of blue flowers and pink brilliants, wearing black armband to mark death of Mrs Simpson (thought to be her favourite bear).

Mr Simpson's note reads: Alison (no 96) Henry (97) and Hilary (98) were al the companions of Mrs Simpson during her years at Buckfield House. Probably a relatively modern home-made bear. He was believed to be Margaret's favourite and was present in Uplyme Chirch for her memorial service.
