Patchwork quilt, coverlet, shiny glazed cottons, chintzes and dark ground cotton prints, in octagonal and pentagonal shapes with plain cream ground, pieced to form a patchwork of regular flower beds in an early 'Grandmother's Flower Garden' design, the quilting pattern on the plain cotton reverse apprears as white stitches on the top surface, the quilting is in traditional 18th century design and has a central medallion with fan shapes radiating out from it, the design also includes diaper patterning, sea waves and zigzags, the wadding is of sheep's wool, approximate length 250cms, approximate width 204cms, c1790-1815
