A view of St. Thomas's Street, Winchester looking north towards the rear of the Old Guildhall on the High Street. No's. 23 and 23A St Thomas Street can be seen immediately on the left of the picture.

The Old Guildhall was built in 1711 on the site of the former hall, at the expense of George Brydges, one of the two Members of Parliament for Winchester. The clock was presented by Sir William Paulet, the other Member of Parliament.
