This view of Winchester is from St Giles Hill, a viewpoint to the east of the city. The view of the city centre has changed little and is dominated by Winchester Cathedral.

Other buildings that can be seen in this view are St John's Hospital South Almshouse, St Thomas's Church and Winchester prison.
