Thornycroft family members in the garden of Steyne Wood House, Bembridge, Isle of Wight in 1894. The main family grouping are believed to be, left to right: Isaac Thomas (Tom) Thornycroft; uncertain ; John Edward Thornycoft; Edith Alice Cornish (nee Thornycroft) holding Esther Phylis Cornish b.1894; Charles John Cornish; uncertain; Blanche Coules Thornycroft.
The uncertain sitters are probably two of the other sisters, either Mary Beatrix, Ada Frances or Eldred Elizabeth. It is not known who the man and boy to the left of the family group are.
The photograph is also useful as it shows the house before the tower was demolished and the house extended.
