Miniature thistle-type brooch fragment, made of mercury gilt silver. The lower part of the bow, the pin and the catch-plate are now missing. There is finely-applied decoration on both the bar and bow. X-ray flourescence analysis conducted at the British Museum indicated an approximate silver content of 98% for this object.
