Sunday's Bear - William Simpson Teddy Bear Collection

This teddy bear was named Sunday's Bear and belonged to Mr William Simpson, an avid collector of more than 250 teddy bears. Sunday's Bear has a swivel head and jointed limbs. It has a Steiff button / label in its left ear and another label attached to its left front leg. Its fur is of a pale apricot colour. It wears a dark apricot neck ribbon, a white broderie anglaise top tied with a white satin ribbon and a straw bonnet with slots for its ears to poke through. 

HMCMS:D2008.3.76, 77, 78, 79, 80, 81 and 82 make up the Days of the Week Collection of Steiff bears, based on the nursery rhyme "Monday's child is fair of face" (etc.). This group of seven bears comes with a framed Certificate of Authenticity, printed with the "Monday's child" rhyme and Mr Simpson's name.
