Lithophane Figures on base of tankard
Lithophane, forming the base of a lidded tankard, porcelain, glazed, exterior decorated with a printed and enamelled scene captioned 'The Oldest Windmill on Cape Cod', lithophane shows an apparently unrelated scene with two female figures, one of whom may be being sketched by a third, male, figure seated to the right; printed retailers' mark on base, made in Germany for, the Eagleston Shop, Hyannis, Massachusetts, United States, c1882-1907.
