Al - William Simpson Teddy Bear Collection
This teddy bear, named 'Al' by Mr William Simpson who was an avid collector of more than 250 teddy bears, has a swivel head and jointed limbs. A certificate and other labels are attached to Al, as well as a black and gilt medallion around this teddy's neck.
Al is a Dean's Limited Edition bear, bought new in 2001. The teddy bear is an 'Alpaca' Panda bought from Dean's at the same time as one of Mr Simpsons other teddy bears, Winston. Al was acquired so that the Panda species would be represented in the collection.
