Nurse Buckfield - William Simpson Teddy Bear Collection
This teddy bear, named 'Nurse Buckfield' by Mr William Simpson who was an avid collector of more than 250 teddy bears, has a swivel head and jointed limbs. The teddy bear also has on a pale blue nurses dress, a white apron with red cross on front, a pink Cancer Research ribbon, and a nurse's cap.
A note left by Mr Simpson states that Nurse Buckfield was quite badly damaged when the teddy bear was received, and that one ear was missing, the seam of one arm was split and the nose and mouth needed to be re-sewn.
