Teddy Bear

Fanny - William Simpson Teddy Bear Collection

This teddy bear was named ‘Fanny’ by Mr William Simpson who was an avid collector of more than 250 teddy bears. Fanny is made of a cream fabric and has a swivel head and jointed limbs. This teddy bears eyes are backed with brown felt. It wears a tan neck ribbon and a blue homemade skirt.

Fanny was made by Farnell in the late 1950s when the Company moved away from London and established a new factory in Hastings. They were taken over shortly after this date and so Fanny must be among the latest productions of the Farnell enterprise.
