Clemacher - William Simpson Teddy Bear Collection
This teddy bear was named 'Clemacher' by Mr William Simpson who was an avid collector of more than 250 teddy bears. Clemacher has golden mohair fur with black glass eyes, a stitched nose, and woodwool stuffing. He is a jointed bear with a swivel head, made by a German company called Clemens, which specialised in 'character' bears. He can be seen wearing original football stripe comprising off a blue shirt and white shorts, and official world cup miniature Adidas boots.
Clemacher was bought by Mr Simpson at auction form a June Christie sale and still has the auction ticket attached.
