Teddy Bear

Theodore - William Simpson Teddy Bear Collection

This teddy bear was named ‘Theodore' by Mr William Simpson who was an avid collector of more than 250 teddy bears. This teddy bear is made out of yellow looped pile material and is wearing a narrow green, blue and yellow knitted scarf. Theodore has a Velcro opening at base of it's back, is filled with kapok, and was possibly a hot water bottle cover.

This teddy bear belongs with another one of Mr Simpson's bears - Twinkle. The bears are the former property of Miss Pam Field of Westcott, from near Dorking, Surrey. The Bears were bequeathed to Mr Simpson's collection when Pam died in 2005 with the request that they be "looked after". They are both modern bears made in the Far East, and both wear similar knitted scarves.
