Alex - William Simpson Teddy Bear Collection
This teddy bear was named ‘Alex’ by Mr William Simpson who was an avid collector of more than 250 teddy bears. This teddy bear is made out of dark blonde coloured fabric. Alex has a label on its back left leg, and a red neck ribbon. The bear was made in sitting position.
Alex belongs with two other bears - Anne and Sophie. These three bears were originally the property of Anne Clay - former friends from the time of Mr Simpson's residence in London. They were bequeathed to his collection when Anne died in November 2004. Alex was made in Indonesia for the Keel Toy Company, Broadstairs, for Kent's 'Simply Soft Collection'.
