This teddy bear was named ‘Ben’ by Mr William Simpson, an avid collector of more than 250 teddy bears. This teddy bear is complete with homemade red, brown and cream check trousers and top cut out of brown knitting, flower shape sewn to front.
Mr Simpson partnered this bear with another in his collection, Belinda. He noted how this teddy bear was bought in 1996 in the course of a closing down sale in Lyme Regis. ‘They were part of quite a large number of similar bears but were the only ones who seemed to have nicely formed faces.’
This was made in China for Play Makers of Scarborough.
